SAN ANTONIO - Pavel Brendl had a two-point night, including the game-winning goal for the San Antonio Rampage to feed the Chicago Wolves their third consecutive loss 3-2 at the AT&T Center Friday night. In front of a season-high audience of 6,927, Rampage netminder David LeNeveu posted a season-high 45 saves on the night to win his second consecutive start this season and help San Antonio tally their 14th win on the year.
LeNeveu kept the Wolves from biting as Chicago outshot the Rampage 47-18, allowing only a power-play goal at 3:15 in the first period where LeNeveu faced 21 of those shots.
The Rampage came back to steal the lead with back-to-back goals as Pascal Rheaume tied the game at 1-1 with help from Layne Ulmer and Tim Jackman at the 9:52 mark. Mike Bishai followed 1:20 later to give the Rampage the lead. Jeff Taffe, who was acquired by the Phoenix Coyotes on Jan. 24 from the New York Rangers, tallied his first point in a Rampage uniform as Brendl also collected his first point of the night assisting on Bishai's goal.
After a scoreless second period, Chicago's Scott Barney scored his second goal of the night 5:05 into the closing period to tie the game.
Brendl would lift the Rampage to their eighth home victory of the season with 6:36 left in regulation as Eric Chouinard and Chris McAllister helped Brendl extend his scoring streak to three consecutive games (3-4=7).
