
Falcons Acquire Travis Brigley

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that they have loaned defenseman Harlan Pratt to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The Falcons also announced that forward Travis Brigley has been reassigned to Springfield by the New York Islanders. Brigley is expected to join the Falcons on Saturday when they host the Providence Bruins at the MassMutual Center.
Brigley has appeared in 39 games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers this season collecting seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points and 28 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound native of Coronation, Alberta is in his eighth season of professional hockey and has appeared in 430 career AHL games collecting 107 goals, 143 assists, 250 points and 267 penalty minutes. Brigley reached the 20-goal plateau in back-to-back seasons when he recorded 22 goals while with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks during the 2001-02 season, followed by a 21-goal season splitting time between Cincinnati and Hershey Bears during the 2002-03 campaign.
"Travis Brigley is a proven American Hockey League player who has shown an ability to score and he is also very sound defensively," said Falcons President and General Manager Bruce Landon. "He also brings NHL experience to the team which is always important."
Brigley has appeared in 55 career NHL games, including 36 games with the Colorado Avalanche during the 2003-04 season collecting three goals and four assists for seven points and 10 penalty minutes. Brigley was originally drafted by the Calgary Flames in the second round (39th overall) in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
The Falcons return home on Saturday, January 28 when they host the Providence Bruins at the MassMutual Center starting at 7:05 PM. Springfield also hosts the Portland Pirates on Sunday, January 29 starting at 4:05 PM. All games can be heard live on the Falcons Hockey Network, WMAS AM 1450, as "The Voice" of the Falcons John Michael handles the play-by-play duties. All games can also be seen live through the B-2 Network for only $6.00.
