Lowell, Mass. - The Lowell Lock Monsters tied a home record by scoring eight times in an 8-2 triumph over the Hartford Wolf Pack (24-15-2-5) at the Tsongas Arena Friday night. It was the third straight win for the Monsters.

The Monsters got on the board early. Vince Bellissimo completed a 4-on-2 break by quickly shuffling in a loose puck at the side of the net to make it 1-0. With Lowell shorthanded due to a boarding major against Nicolas Corbeil, Keith Aucoin came in alone on G Robert Gherson, but he rang his shot off the post. The Wolf Pack evened the score at 10:53 with a redirection by Jarkko Immonen from the top of the crease. But soon after, Lowell pulled away. Kevin Estrada picked up his second of the season at 13:52 by redirecting a shot by Johnny Boychuk. With just 1.7 seconds left in the period Lowell took a 3-1 lead. Niklas Nordgren snuck home a backhander after Aucoin set him up all alone in front of Gherson for his second goal in three games since joining the team.

Lowell managed just one shot on goal through the first 11 minutes of the second frame, but during 4-on-4 play they extended their advantage. D Ryan Glenn took a feed from David Gove and wove his way to the front of the net, tucking in his first career AHL goal in 23 games at 12:46. Jesse Boulerice, assigned by Carolina earlier in the day, fired a cross-ice pass to Nordgren for his second of the game with less than four minutes to go in the period. Aucoin picked up his team-leading 18th of the season with 1:34 left in the middle stanza, tipping home a centering pass from the captain Paul Healey to make it 6-1.

Gherson was replaced in the Hartford net to start the third by Al Montoya. Just 5:36 into the third Aucoin notched his second of the game, poking in a loose puck after Estrada rushed it deep into the zone. Hartford scored another tally at 11:02, with Alexandre Giroux potting his 20th of the season during 4-on-4 action. The Monsters finished off the scoring by making it 8-2 at 14:28 when David Gove buried a centering feed from Cody McLeod for his 11th of the season. Vitaly Kolesnik turned aside 37 shots in earning his 14th win of the season.
