
Mediacom Connections Channel to carry AHL All-Star Game

DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Stars and Mediacom Connections are proud to announce that they are able to provide all Iowa Stars fans and Iowa residents the opportunity to watch the 2006 RBK Hockey AHL All-Star Classic at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Wednesday, February 1st.
"When we entered into this partnership with Mediacom to broadcast 11 of the Stars games at the beginning of the season, we wanted to expose the residents of Iowa to the excitement of Iowa Stars hockey and showcase some of the best players in the world", said Iowa Stars President John Pettit. "Now, by offering the AHL All-Star game to their subscribers, this will show the viewers the best the AHL has to offer".
"We are extremely pleased to offer Iowa Stars fans the opportunity to watch Junior and the other AHL All-Stars compete in this year's festivities", commented Mediacom Senior Manager, John Kelling.
Mediacom will air the game on Wednesday, February 1st at 9 PM.
The 2006 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic will feature the top young talent in the American Hockey League, competing in the 2006 CCM AHL All-Star Skills Competition and the 2006 AHL All-Star Game, in an event to be televised nationally in the United States and Canada.
The Connections Channel is Mediacom's statewide network that provides Iowans with coverage of state and local sports and community events. It is located at channel 22 for most areas of the state. Check local listing for your community's Mediacom Connections Channel (Ch. 74 in Iowa City; Ch. 18 in Northwest Iowa).
NEXT GAME: The Iowa Stars host the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights for the last time during the regular season at Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday night. Game time is 7:05 PM. On Sunday, the Stars closeout their five-game home-stand with a 5:05 PM game against the Grand Rapids Griffins (Detroit Red Wings). The first 2,500 fans will receive a Junior Lessard All-Star poster.
