
Bears rally to defeat Norfolk 7-4 at Norfolk Scope

Five goals in the third period lead the BEARS to a 7-4 come-from-behind victory at Scope Friday night.
Newcomer Mike Kompon opened the scoring for HERSHEY with his first goal in a BEARS uniform at 3:19 of the first period before the Admirals tied the game with a goal from Nathan Barrett at 8:10. Norfolk would take a 2-1 lead at 10:29 of the first when Matt Keith scored at 10:29. The BEARS outshot the Admirals 13-9 after twenty minutes but trailed 3-1 after one.
After the teams traded goals in the second period, HERSHEY came storming back in the third. Graham Mink scored his 17th of the season at 3:55 of the period before Mike Green tied the game with his fifth of the season. Mink, Dave Steckel and Lawrence Nycholat would run the score to 7-4 HERSHEY with 3:15 remaining. The BEARS fired 20 third period shots en route to the victory.
The BEARS return home to face the Binghamton Senators Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 508-BEAR. HERSHEY is also home Sunday afternoon against the Norfolk Admirals at 5:00 p.m.
