Lincoln Saltdogs News Release

SIOUX CITY, IA- The Lincoln Saltdogs couldn't keep up with Sioux City Thursday night, losing 12-5 at Lewis and Clark Park. The X's took two of three from Lincoln in the first series of the season's second half.

The game was scoreless through the first two innings, but Lincoln starter Ryan Dittfurth (3-5) ran into trouble in the third. Sioux City plated three runs in the frame, sending eight men to the plate. The Saltdogs, however, bounced back against X's starter Nick Singleton (4-4) with two runs in the fourth and another in the fifth to tie the game. Corey Harrington had a key two-out, RBI single in the fourth, and Eduardo Rios drove in the tying run in the next inning.

Sioux City had an answer of its own, though, driving Dittfurth from the mound in the fifth. The Explorers plated two runs in the inning to take the lead for good, and although Lincoln scored an unearned run in the sixth to pull within one, the X's scored two in the six, three in the seventh and two in the eighth to pull away.

On the night, Curt Miaso finished 2-for-2 with two walks and a run scored for Lincoln. Shea McFeely went 3-for-4 with a run scored, while Dustin Yount and Mario Delgado also had two hits apiece. Delgado's single in the fourth inning extended his hitting streak to 12 games.

The Saltdogs now head to St. Paul for a three-game series against the Saints, beginning Friday night at 7:05. Jarrett Gardner is scheduled to make the start for Lincoln.
