Brad Davis improved to 5-5 on the year by allowing just five hits and two earned runs over seven innings to lead Wichita past Pensacola 5-2. In the top of the third inning the Wingnuts got a bases loaded single from RF Dustan Mohr to open a 2-0 lead before 1B Steve Pearson roped a single to center to increase the lead to 3-0. Pensacola inched back to within a run before back to back doubles by 3B Michael Thompson and Pearson made it a 4-2 game. Wichita added another in the ninth inning and closer Byron Embry came on for his 11th save.

Grand Prairie 14, El Paso 2

Grand Prairie ended El Paso's hopes of winning this one early as they scored 11 runs in the first two innings on their way to a 14-2 win. Diablos starter Ben Thurmond recorded just three outs and left with his team trailing 7-0. Nat Harris went seven innings for the AirHogs and improved to 4-1 but the story of the night was Grand Prairie's offense. The number five through seven hitters in their order combined to go 9-for-14 with nine RBI and seven runs scored. C JB Tucker was a big part of that output with four hits including his seventh long ball of the year.

Fort Worth 9, Shreveport 0

Leading 3-0 in the sixth inning Fort Worth scored four times to put the game out of reach and went on to beat Shreveport 9-0. Pedro Flores improved to 7-1 as he pitched eight shutout innings on six hits, striking out five. DH John Allen went 3-for-5 and 1B Jake Gautreau drove in three as he went 2-for-4. 2B Cameron Blair also had a nice game with two hits and two runs driven in. Russell Savickas completed five innings but allowed six earned runs and dropped to 2-4. The Sports did not have a runner reach third base in the game.

Sioux City 12, Lincoln 5

Sioux City maximized the value of 13 hits in the contest as they beat Lincoln 12-5. The Explorers scored multiple runs in five of the eight innings in which they batted. 2B Alex Llanos, 3B Juan Camacho, and DH Chad Gabriel all had big nights at the plate. Llanos finished 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored. Camacho hit two doubles, drove in two, and scored twice. And Gabriel went 3-for-5 with a RBI and a run scored. Nick Singleton pitched 5 1/3 innings to get his fourth win of the year while Ryan Dittfurth lasted only 4 1/3 and fell to 3-5.

Sioux Falls 4, St. Paul 1

@ St. Paul, MN. Time: 2:28 Attendance: 5,586

Ryan Ford registered his third victory in ten days over St. Paul as he tossed 8 1/3 innings, striking out five, and allowing just one run to improve to 7-3 on the year. Ford prevented the Saints from advancing a runner to second base until the ninth inning when they scored a run to break the shutout which brought closer Kris Regas into the game. Regas got the last two batters on strikeouts to notch his 17th save. The Canaries jumped ahead 3-0 in the top of the first inning on a RBI double by 3B Grant Richardson and a two-run home run by LF Beau Torbert. They added a run in the third inning which was plenty of cushion for Ford.
