
Saltdogs Add All-Star Catcher

LINCOLN, NE - The Lincoln Saltdogs made another move to bolster their lineup on Tuesday, acquiring catcher Benji Johnson from El Paso in exchange for cash considerations. Lincoln also released right-handed pitchers Jacob Marceaux and Nick Tyson.
Johnson represented El Paso at the 2010 American Association All-Star Game in Wichita this season. In 53 games for the Diablos, he hit .305 with ten home runs, 35 RBI and 16 doubles. A 17th-round draft pick by the Atlanta Braves in 2007, Johnson reached the Class AAA level in 2009, and began 2010 in Class AA before joining El Paso early in the season.
Marceaux, a former Florida Marlins farmhand, made five starts for Lincoln. He went 0-2 with a 9.79 ERA. Tyson appeared in six gamed for Lincoln, going 0-1 with a 5.96 ERA.
