St. Paul Saints News Release
ST. PAUL, MN (June 15, 2011) - At least he won't have to change the name of the team he works for on his business card. St. Paul Saints Assistant General Manager Dan Lehv is headed to the United States Hockey League to take over as President of the Dubuque Fighting Saints in Dubuque, Iowa.
The 31-year-old Lehv's imprint is all over the success of the Saints organization since he began seven years ago. When he joined the Saints in 2004 he was named Director of Marketing before being named Director of Sales and Marketing in 2006. In 2008, he was promoted to Assistant GM.
Lehv's responsibilities include overseeing the team's marketing and advertising partnerships, branding and social media efforts, internal and external communications, selling and maintaining corporate sponsorships, negotiating food and beverage partnerships and coordinating the Saints internship program.
"Dan has proven himself to be a leader and a true professional in everything he's undertaken, from broadcasting games during an earlier stop in his sports career to overseeing some of our most important partnership relationships," said Marv Goldklang, Saints Chairman and Principal Owner. "We will miss not only his tangible contributions but, even more, his creativity and ever present sense of humor that has helped foster the free spirit atmosphere which has been a large part of who we are."
As President of the Dubuque Fighting Saints, Lehv will oversee all business operations for defending Clark Cup Champions.
"The role with Dubuque would not be possible without the valuable time I've spent with the Saints," Lehv said. "The opportunity with Dubuque is obviously an outstanding one to take me away from an organization that I love and will greatly miss. I can't thank the Goldklang Group enough for these past 10 years."
Prior to joining the Saints in December 2004, Lehv spent the previous three years with another Goldklang Group club, the Charleston (SC) RiverDogs, where he served as the club's Director of Media Relations and play-by-play broadcaster. In 2004, he was named South Atlantic League Media Relations Director of the Year.
Lehv is a 2008 graduate of Leadership St. Paul with the St. Paul Area Chamber of Commerce and has served on the Leadership St. Paul Curriculum Committee and Young Professionals Committee. The University of Michigan graduate has also served on the board and is First Vice President of the Minneapolis Breakfast Club.
