
Sacramento Leaves OKC with a Win

The Oklahoma City Dodgers dropped their series finale with the Sacramento River Cats, 6-1, Tuesday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Sacramento held the Dodgers to two hits through eight innings before the Dodgers scored a run on two hits in the bottom of the ninth inning to avoid a shutout. Sacramento took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a solo home run by Justin Bour. The River Cats added two more runs in the fifth inning and three more runs in the top of the ninth inning, including a two-run triple by Peter Maris. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Zach Reks led off with a walk for the Dodgers and advanced to second base on a single by Andy Burns. Carlos Asuaje followed with a RBI single with one out before Sacramento pitcher Silvino Bracho retired the next three batters to end the game.
Of Note:
-With Tuesday's victory, Sacramento won the six-game series against OKC, 4-2, after the Dodgers had posted back-to-back wins Sunday and Monday. The series was the first of the season at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
-The teams combined for 25 strikeouts in the game, with Sacramento's pitchers recording 13 strikeouts, including six straight between the sixth and seventh innings. Dodgers pitchers recorded 12 K's, marking the ninth time this season they've struck out at least 10 batters in a game.
-The Dodgers were held to four hits Tuesday for their second-lowest hit total of the season and were held without an extra-base hit for the first time this season. Zach Reks picked up his team-leading 15th hit of 2021 with a second-inning single. OKC had been held to a season-low three hits Saturday by Sacramento.
-The Dodgers allowed six runs Tuesday and have now allowed at least five runs in each of their first 12 games of the season.
-OKC starting pitcher Yefry Ramírez (0-2) allowed one run on one hit (a home run) with five strikeouts and one walkover 3.0 innings Tuesday and was charged with the loss.
-Sacramento pitcher Nick Tropeano started Tuesday's game, holding OKC to one hit over 2.0 innings. Tropeano pitched in 23 games (20 starts) with the Oklahoma City RedHawks during the 2014 season, going 9-5 and posting a 3.03 ERA with a team-high 120 strikeouts against 33 walks over 124.2 innings.
