Bees Take Series on Throwback Night

May 19, 2021 - Pacific Coast League (PCL)
Salt Lake Bees News Release

Bees pitchers Packy Naughton and Andrew Wantz combined to allow just three runs as Salt Lake finished the homestand with a 9-3 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers on Tuesday night.

Naughton got the start and lasted four and two-thirds innings allowing three runs. Wantz came on in relief in the fifth and took it the rest of the way allowing just three hits and no walks over the final four and one-third innings. The three runs allowed were a season-low for Salt Lake pitching.

The Bees received a balanced offense as eight players recorded a hit and six collected an RBI. Kean Wong stretched his hitting streak to 11 games with a first inning RBI double, the longest streak in Triple-A West this year. With the win the Bees took four of six games from Tacoma during the series.

Salt Lake will take Wednesday off before traveling to Las Vegas for the first road trip of the season. First pitch on Thursday comes at 8:05 p.m. MT. All Bees road games are broadcasted on The Zone Sports Network with Steve Klauke on the call.
