Ryan Vilade, Brendan Rodgers and Nick Longhi all drove in two runs ... Albuquerque had three separate doubles in the game, coming off the bats of Vilade, pitcher Brandon Gold, and Longhi, which tied the game in the seventh ... Brian Serven immediately followed with a single to drive in the go-ahead run.
TOEING THE RUBBER: Dereck Rodríguez made the start and gave up three runs while not recording an out in the second inning ... Brandon Gold pitched solidly in relief and earned the victory with four innings of two-run ball ... Zac Rosscup, Logan Cozart and Chad Smith all worked a hitless inning of relief ... Smith earned the first Isotopes save of the season in dramatic fashion when Eric Stamets made a diving stop at short and threw out Webster Rivas for the final out ... The tying and winning runs were on base as the game ended.
TOPES TIDBITS: The Isotopes scored their most runs in a game since a 10-6 triumph over Las Vegas on Aug. 27, 2019 ... Albuquerque won an away contest for the first time in 637 days and avoided tying a franchise record for road losing streak, as this skid had been nine games ... Topes pitchers clubbed three doubles in this series, two by Gold and the other coming from Ryan Castellani.
ON DECK: Having avoided a six-game sweep at the hands of the Chihuahuas, the Isotopes will take Wednesday off along with the rest of Triple-A West. Albuquerque begins their second homestand of the 2021 season with a 6:35 PM first pitch against the Oklahoma City Dodgers (3-9) on Thursday at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park.
