Isotopes Drop Series-Opener in Extras to Bees, 7-5

Reno, NV - With the Isotopes holding a 5-1 lead entering the top of the eighth inning, Salt Lake plated four runs to tie the game and eventually send the contest to extras. In the 10th, the Bees scored two tallies while keeping Albuquerque off the scoreboard to claim a 7-5 10-inning victory Tuesday night at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park.

Topes Scope: - With the loss, the Isotopes have dropped three of their last five contests and four of their last five series openers.

-The club also falls to 7-7 in extra innings and 2-7 at home. Albuquerque has dropped five-straight extra innings contests (last win: August 1 at El Paso, 11-9, 10 innings).

-The Isotopes were charged with their 34th blown save of the year-tied for the second-most in Triple-A with Syracuse (most: El Paso, 35).

-Tonight is the seventh game since August 20 the Isotopes have blown a lead in the eighth inning or later (last: September 11 at Reno, 6-5). It's also the third contest the Isotopes blown in the eighth inning or later against Salt Lake (also: June 7 and June 27).

-The Isotopes went 3-for-14 with runners in scoring position and left 11 on base. Over the club's last three contests they have left 35 runners on.

-Albuquerque issued 10 walks on the night, tied for the second most free passes in a game and the sixth time the club walked 10+ in a game (last: August 7 vs. Sugar Land).

-Charlie Condon went 1-for-3 with two walks and an RBI, his 11th game with multiple walks in a contest (last: August 28 at Round Rock). His 75 walks on the season since Joc Pederson registered 100 in 2014. Over his last 17 games, he is slashing .319/.420/.536 with six doubles, three homers, 10 walks and 18 RBI.

-Edouard Julien went 1-for-5 with a double and two RBI, his fifth double in his last seven games. Was his fourth game with multiple RBI (last: September 12 at Reno, three). Over his last seven games, he is 11-for-29 with five doubles, six walks and eight RBI.

-Chad Stevens went 1-for-4 with his seventh homer of the year and two RBI. Was his first homer since August 2 at El Paso. Has a hit in 11 of his last 12 games, slashing .386/.526/.545 with four doubles, one homer, 11 walks and nine RBI.

-Nic Kent went 3-for-4 with a walk, his seventh game of the year with three-plus hits and second-straight. Was his third-straight contest with multiple hits (8x13 with one homer, one walk and three RBI).

On Deck: The Isotopes and Bees meet for game two of the series tomorrow at 6:05 pm MT from Isotopes Park. Albuquerque is expected to start Jack Mahoney while Joel Hurtado is slated to start for Salt Lake.
