Rapid City Rush News Release

(Rapid City, SD) - On Saturday night, the Rush were unable to complete their second sweep of the year as the RiverKings pulled out the victory 3-1. Leading the charge was Mississippi goaltender Ray Jean who made a complete turnaround from last night's effort, making 32 saves for the victory.

The opening period slowed down from the previous night's as both teams combined for only 11 shots on net. Both sides were perfect on the penalty kill, the Rush 2-for-2 while the RiverKings killed off the only Rush powerplay.

The second frame was a complete turnaround for both sides as each team fired a total of 16 shots. The lone goal however, came from Mississippi's leading scorer, Ryan Held who gave his team their first lead of the weekend. Time of the goal was 10:43 and Ryan Campbell picked up the lone assist on the play.

Rapid City began the third with 1:46 worth of powerplay time that ended up being a 5-on-3 for over 30 seconds as another penalty was added. The Rush were unable to convert but shortly after the penalties expired, the Rush received a goal from defenseman Dave Grimson. Grimson's goal was his first of the season and second of his career. Giving his team the lead once again was Bobby Chaumont who fired a writ shot past Danny Battochio to make it a 2-1 game. With 11 seconds left, Louis Dumont added an empty net goal to make it a 3-1 final.

Up next, the Rush hit the road to take on the Wichita Thunder on Wednesday, November 11th, the game is scheduled for 6:05pm Mountain Time.
