Bucks Take Two of Three From Sundogs

PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League beat the Arizona Sundogs 4-3 Saturday night at Tim's Toyota Center. With the win the Bucks move into a tie with Amarillo for second in the conference, as they improve to 5-2-2 (12 points).

J.P Levassuer was solid in net again for Laredo, setting aside 31 of 34 shots to improve to 4-0-1 this season.

Four different players scored goals for the Bucks in the win.

The Sundogs would jump out in front of the Bucks just 3:41 into the first period. Jason Visser scored his fourth goal of the year on a snap shot from the left circle just as Arizona's power-play expired.

The Bucks would tie the game at 1-1 when struck on the power-play 10:02 into the first period. Adam Rivet banged in his third goal of the year on a rebound from the bottom of the left circle. Jeff Bes and Jarred Mohr picked up assists.

Each team put up nine shots in the first period.

The Bucks would strike for two goals in nine seconds in the second period to take a 3-1 advantage after 40 minutes of play.

Laredo scored their second power-play tally of the night 10:34 into the period, when Mike Looby sent a shot in from the point for his second of the year. Evan Schwabe picked up the assist.

Just nine seconds later Neil Trimm scored his first goal of the season as he jammed home a backhander on the left side of the crease. Justin Styffe had the assist.

Laredo was outshot in the second period 10-6.

Jon Landry cut the Bucks lead to 3-2 just 2:59 into the third as he scored his second of the year.

Maxime Lincourt picked up his fourth goal of the season to give the Bucks a 4-2 lead at the 7:41 mark. Eric Giosa picked up his first assist in a Bucks uniform.

Marek Janeck would cut the Bucks lead to 4-3 with 9:16 left in the third period when he rifled home a shot from the high slot.

The Sundogs pulled J.F Perras for the final 30 seconds of the game but failed to get the equalizer. Perras stopped 22 of 26.

Terry Ruskowski hit a couple of coaching milestones in the win, tying Gary Unger for fifth place in CHL history with 292 wins, while also tying Don McKee for sixth place in CHL history with 492 games coached.
