Jacks Defeat Mudbugs, 4-1

(Bossier City, LA) - Alex Dunn scored a goal and added a pair of assists as the Odessa Jackalopes topped the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Saturday night at the CenturyTel Center. The final score was 4-1

Both teams traded goals in the first period as Odessa's Kory Karlander opened up the scoring at 6:23. Phil Plante and Kenny Bernard had the assists as Karlander drove the net to score on his own rebound. It was his fourth of the season. The Mudbugs tied the game at 17:41 as Dale Lupul wristed a power play goal past Juha Toivonen on assists from Brett Smith and David Pszenyczny. After the first is was 1-1.

The Jacks regained the one-goal lead with the only score of the second period. At 1:20, Kenny Bernard netted a power play marker for a 2-1 score favoring Odessa after two periods. Alex Dunn and Mike Ramsay added the assists.

In the third period the Jackalopes added two more goals to pull away from Bossier-Shreveport. Sebastien Thinel scored his second goal of the season at 4:18 when he tipped home Collin Circelli's centering pass from behind the net. Dunn also had an assist on the goal. The score became 4-1 when Dunn found the score sheet at 12:17 for Odessa's second power play goal of the game. Kenny Bernard and Kory Karlander had the helpers on Dunn's third of the season. 4-1 ended up as the final score.

Dunn finished with a goal and two assists for a three-point game. Kenny Bernard's goal extends his goal-scoring streak to seven games. Phil Plante also has an assist in the last seven games.

The Jackalopes return to Odessa for a four-game stretch on home ice beginning Friday against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at 7:05 PM. The game can be heard on 102.1 Jack FM.
