Rapid City Rush News Release
(RAPID CITY, SD) - The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Arizona Coyotes, are gearing up for another busy weekend of hockey on home ice as the team takes on the Fort Wayne Komets and the defending Kelly Cup Champion Allen Americans on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in a third straight three-game-in-three-night set.
Friday, March 4th, not only begins a new month in the Rush schedule, but also features the return of the Fort Wayne Komets to Premier Home Mortgage Ice in Rushmore Plaza Civic Center for the first time in four seasons. The first Rush/Komets showdown since April 10, 2012 in Game 6 of the 2012 CHL Playoffs Opening Round comes on "Rush for Ca$h" Night, where 15 Rapid City Area Elementary Schools will participate in a battle royale for the chance to grab cash for their school! FIVE-THOUSAND $1 bills will be spread onto the ice during intermission, and each participating teacher from each school will have exactly one minute to grab as much money as they can. Proceeds go to each school, furnished by First Interstate Bank. Puck drop for the game is slated for 7:05 p.m. MST.
Saturday, March 5th, is the final head-to-head matchup of the regular season between the Komets and the Rush, and features our first-ever "Ice Princess Night". The first 1,000 children 16 and under will receive a princess-themed youth jersey, sponsored by Coca-Cola. It's a night fit for queens and princesses alike, so dress up like one and meet your favorite ice princesses! Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. MST.
Sunday, March 6th, marks another final showdown, this time with the defending Kelly Cup Champions and long-time Rush rivals, the Allen Americans. Our final Sunday home contest of the season features a return of the Family 4-Pack ticket special, where you received 4 tickets, 4 hotdogs, and for sodas for only $69.95. Additionally, there will be a club meet and greet with the entire Rush hockey team following the game, as well as our second on-ice Season Ticket Holder group picture! Puck drop is on schedule for 4:05 p.m. MST.
Come join us for three fun nights and competitive opponents as the Rush make their push for the 2016 Kelly Cup Playoffs!
