ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, went 2-1-0 last week sweeping the Wheeling Nailers at WesBanco Arena which completed the first season sweep in Wheeling for the first time since the Jackals joined the ECHL.

The weekend the Jackals began a stretch in which they will face-off against the Brampton Beast seven times in the remaining 15 games of their regular season. These matchups will mark the fifth and sixth of 11 overall between Elmira and Brampton this season and the second and third of five at the Powerade Centre. The Jackals are 3-1-0 against the Beast this season, winning the only meeting in Brampton and taking two of three in Elmira. In the last contest, the Jackals trailed late in the third period when Mike Seidel stepped up with a game-tying goal and the pesky pack went on to win 2-1 in a shootout. Colin Jacobs and Tyler Gjurich scored in the skills competition while C.J. Motte stopped 18 of 19 shots faced and two of three shootout attempts to earn the win. In the only meeting in Brampton thus far, the Jackals cruised to a 5-2 victory behind C.J. Motte's 32 saves and three-point efforts from Cason Hohmann and Colin Jacobs. Colin Jacobs leads the Jackals with four assists and five points against the Beast while Cason Hohmann leads the way with three goals. The Jackals are 3-1-0 all-time at the Powerade Centre and have won eight of the first 10 meetings in the series history.

2/26 vs. Reading Royals: L 3-5
Chris Langkow, Allan McPherson and Cason Hohmann combined for eight points on Friday night at First Arena, but the Jackals fell to the Reading Royals in the final home meeting with their East Division rival this season. 2/27 at Wheeling Nailers: W 7-4
Eleven different Jackals recorded at least one point in an explosive 7-4 victory over the Wheeling Nailers at WesBanco Arena. Jacob MacDonald recorded his first career hat trick in a four-point effort while Cason Hohmann posted four assists. Alain Valiquette made 30 saves winning his first professional start. 2/28 at Wheeling Nailers: W 3-1
The Elmira Jackals defeated the Wheeling Nailers 3-1 on Sunday afternoon in the final meeting of their regular-season series. For the first time, the Jackals have swept the season series at WesBanco Arena, winning all three meetings on Nailers' home ice this season. Matt Garbowsky, Kyle Stroh and Allan McPherson scored for the Jackals while C.J. Motte turned aside 29 shots to earn his 15th win of the season. For the full recap...click here.
