Baier Inks PTO with Stockton Heat, Harvey Retires

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, have announced that veteran defenseman Eric Baier has signed a Professional Try-Out Agreement with the AHL's Stockton Heat, while defenseman Myles Harvey has retired from professional hockey.

Baier, 27, heads to his second AHL team of the season, after appearing in one game with the Marlies on Jan. 20 against Syracuse, in which he logged one assist. In 52 games with the Solar Bears this season, Orlando's captain has recorded 32 points (8g-24a) and six penalty minutes.

Harvey, 27, concludes his playing career having suited up for 14 games this season with Orlando, posting three assists and six penalty minutes. He wraps up his pro playing career with 77 combined games with Orlando, Wheeling, Utah and Hamilton (AHL), totaling 14 points (3g-11a) and 46 penalty minutes. The Solar Bears have suspended Harvey for the purposes of maintaining his rights.

The Solar Bears continue their fourth season in the ECHL, presented by Auto Justice Attorney Michael T. Gibson, P.A., when they host the Kalamazoo Wings on Monday, Feb. 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the Amway Center.
