
Runs galore at Coca-Cola Park

Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
(Allentown, Pa) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (51-54) and Pawtucket Red Sox (47-59) combined for 18 runs, 32 hits and five errors on Monday night at Coca-Cola Park. The PawSox came out on top as they won 11-7.
Chad De La Guerra hit a home run off Seth McGarry in the top of the first inning to give Pawtucket a 1-0 lead. The PawSox extended their lead to 2-0 in the top of the second inning.
The Pigs jumped to a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the second inning against Josh A. Smith. Malquin Canelo hit a game-tying two-run double and Phil Gosselin hit a three-run home run to give Lehigh Valley the lead. Pawtucket answered with another run against McGarry in the top of the third inning to cut Lehigh Valley's lead to 5-3.
McGarry pitched just three innings then Tyler Gilbert pitched two scoreless innings in relief before Austin Davis entered the game to pitch in the top of the sixth inning. Cole Sturgeon got the rally started by hitting an RBI single to score Jantzen Witte. Juan Centeno followed with an RBI single and Gorkys Hernandez hit a sacrifice fly. Marco Hernandez hit an RBI single to chase Davis out of the inning.
Lehigh Valley tied the game at 7-7 against Smith in the bottom of the sixth inning as Ali Castillo hit an RBI double and Andrew Romine hit an RBI single. Pawtucket re-took the lead in the top of the seventh inning as they scored four runs off Fernando Salas (1-1) to take an 11-7 lead.
Domingo Tapia (4-2) earned the win by pitching 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
The IronPigs and PawSox wrap up their series at 11:35 a.m. on Tuesday morning at Coca-Cola Park.
