ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Pawtucket Red Sox (47-59) toppled the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (51-54), 11-7, on Monday night in the series opener at Cola-Cola Park thanks to a 15-hit effort that followed up a 17-hit outburst against Charlotte.

Lehigh Valley responded in a big way in the bottom of the second. The Iron Pigs loaded the bases with three straight singles before Malquin Canelo doubled in two runs to tie the score. The next batter, Phil Gosselin, hit a three-run home run, breaking the tie and giving Lehigh Valley a 5-2 lead.

The PawSox scored again in the third inning, as a throwing error by shortstop Malquin Canelo allowed Gorkys Hernandez to touch home and reduce the deficit to 5-3.

The PawSox scored four more runs in the sixth inning. Cole Sturgeon, Juan Centeno, and Marco Hernandez each singled in a run, and Gorkys Hernandez supplied a sacrifice fly.

Lehigh Valley responded with 2 runs in the bottom half on a double by Ali Castillo and a single by Andrew Romine.
