TONIGHT: The Rumble Ponies continue their 4-game series with the Trenton Thunder over Memorial Day weekend. The Rumble Ponies and Thunder have split the first two games of the series...with Binghamton winning 6-0 Friday evening and the Thunder victorious 5-2 on Saturday night.

EVENLY MATCHED: The two teams have split the first six games they've played against each other this year (3-3). At ARM & HAMMER Park each team has won two games, and at NYSEG Stadium each team has won a game. With last night's win, the Thunder have retaken first place in the Eastern Division by a half game.

KAY DAY: Rumble Ponies LHP Anthony Kay goes for his 5th straight win tonight, in his first start of his career against the Thunder. Kay is coming off pitching 7 no-hit frames against the Bowie Baysox Monday night, in which he allowed just one walk. He also faced the minimum 21 batters, throwing 88 pitches, 55 of them for strikes.

MORE KAY: Kay with his win on Monday lowered his ERA to 1.07, lowest in the Eastern League. Hitters are also only hitting .130 against Kay, the lowest in the EL.. His 0.77 WHIP also leads the league. Over his last six starts, Kay has not allowed more than one run and has gone seven innings in his last three outings.

TRENTON STARTER: The Thunder send RHP Garrett Whitlock to the mound . Whitlock faced the Ponies last Thursday, going 3.2IP, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs on 66 pitches.. Whitlock was a 17th round pick of the Yankees in the 2017 draft. Patrick Mazeika did hit a home run off of him.

JANNIS RUN CONTINUES: RHP Mickey Jannis started last night's game and allowed two runs, but both were unearned. That means in three starts this year that Jannis still has not allowed an earned run.

SPEED ON BOTH SIDES: Binghamton's Sam Haggerty and Trenton's Ben Ruta are tied for second in the Eastern League in stolen bases with 11 apiece. Thunder outfielder Rashad Crawford is tied for third with 10.

TOFFEY LIKES SEEING THE THUNDER: Will Toffey was 2-3 last night with a stolen base, walk, and run scored. In 5 games against Trenton this year he is hitting .333 (6-18) , with 3 runs scored, 2 doubles, 4 BB, and 1 RBI.

COMING UP: The Rumble Ponies will conclude their four-game series with the Thunder on Memorial Day afternoon. First pitch is at 1:05 . Then the Ponies travel to Richmond for a three-game series with the Flying Squirrels beginning Tuesday night.
