PREVIEW: Binghamton concludes their second home stand of the season with a rubber game against the Rubber Ducks on Wednesday night.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Mike Gibbons takes the mound for his fifth start of the season and his first against the RubberDucks. The righty struck out a career-high nine Sea Dogs, but took a hard-luck loss in his last start on April 25.

POWER OUTAGE: The Rumble Ponies have failed to hit a home run in six straight games, their longest drought of the season. It's Binghamton's longest long ball drought since they went six straight games with no home runs in July 2018. Since 2008, Binghamton's longest homerless stretch was an 11-game power outage in July 2017.

SCORE A RUN, WIN A PRIZE: Five of Binghamton's last six games have ended with one team being shut out. Binghamton is 2-3 in those shutout game, with both victories ending in 1-0 finals. The Rumble Ponies won seven shutouts and lost ten games by shutout last season.

SWEET TOFFEY: Ponies infielder Will Toffey has hit safely in eight of his last nine games. He has gone 9-for-27 (.333) at the plate during the stretch with three doubles. He has raised his batting average to a season-best .232. Toffey is in his second season with the Rumble Ponies. The Mets acquired him from the Oakland A's in exchange for Jeurys Familia in July 2018.

BULLPEN GETTING IT DONE: Binghamton's bullpen has combined for a 1.37 ERA in their last seven games. Rumble Ponies relievers have allowed just three earned runs in 19.2 innings during the stretch. Binghamton's bullpen has compiled a 2.84 ERA in 2019.

AGAINST THE RUBBERDUCKS: The Rumble Ponies have gone 3-2 versus the RubberDucks in 2019. Binghamton has hit .288 as a team and averaged 6.6 runs/game, a rate inflated thanks to a pair of games last week in which they scored 27 combined runs. Braxton Lee leads the charge with seven hits in five games.

COLLEGE CONNECTION: The Rumble Ponies and RubberDucks have a pair of former college teammates. Ponies infielder Dario Pizzano and RubberDucks reliever David Speer were teammates at Columbia University. Ponies reliever Stephen Villines and Ducks reliever Ben Krauth played together at the University of Kansas.

PLENTY OF PITCHING NEEDED: Due to three straight postponed games in Portland on their first road trip, the Rumble Ponies will play two doubleheaders in their next series at Hadlock Field. Binghamton is set for twin bills on Friday and Sunday.

COMING UP: The Rumble Ponies embark on an eight-day road trip bringing them to Portland and Harrisburg. Binghamton starts a four-day, six-game series against the Sea Dogs on Thursday night.
