LAST GAME RECAP: Binghamton earned the series-finale victory at Richmond Thursday night, 3-1. The Ponies scored one run in three straight innings behind another seven-inning performance by Mickey Jannis. Andres Gimenez and Will Toffey accounted for four of Binghamton's six hits.
BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Frankyn Kilome makes his 22nd Eastern League start of the season and first against his former Fightin Phils since being traded to the Mets. Kilome made 24 starts for Reading over the past two seasons, including 19 this season. He's tossed 11.2 innings in his two Rumble Ponies starts, allowing four runs on 10 hits.
NOT JOSHIN' AROUND: Joshua Torres earned his second save of the season by hurling 1.1 innings of scoreless baseball on Thursday night. He stranded three inherited runners and has only allowed three inherited runner to score this season (18 left stranded). In 38.0 innings with Binghamton, he's allowed just five earned runs and owns eight wins.
MICKMAN DELIVERS: Mickey Jannis earned his 19th career win with Binghamton Thursday night and moved into a tie with Darin Gorski (2012 - 2014) for eighth place all-time in franchise wins.
NATIONAL LEAGUE STYLE: The Rumble Ponies take on the Fightin Phils for their fifth consecutive NL-style series. Binghamton is 11-20 against National League-affiliated foes this season.
RUBBER GAME GREATS: The Rumble Ponies improved to 8-4 in series-deciding games with last night's victory.
AWESOME AUGUST: Binghamton has started the month with a 6-2 mark. The Rumble Ponies collected above .500 marks in the first two months of the season, but have since posted a 10-17 June mark and an 11-18 July record.
THURSDAY THIEVES: Binghamton collected a trio of stolen bases on Thursday, matching their season high set on July 24 in a win at Bowie. The Rumble Ponies have the fewest steals in the Eastern League (49), while Reading ranks 11th with 52.
STRONG LIKE BULL(PEN): Rumble Ponies relievers have not allowed a run in eight of the last 11 games. Binghamton posted a 6-5 mark in those contests.
FIGHTING THE FIGHTIN's: Binghamton and Reading meet up for the first time in the 2018 regular season. The Rumble Ponies visited FirstEnergy Stadium once in 2017 and swept the Fightin Phils in a four-game series. The Fightins visit Binghamton next week at NYSEG Stadium.
