Binghamton Rumble Ponies News Release
PREVIEW: The Rumble Ponies venture to Maine to open a four-day, six-game series against the Sea Dogs at Hadlock Field.
BINGHAMTON STARTER: LHP Anthony Kay takes the mound for his second straight start against the Sea Dogs. The southpaw from Long Island struck out seven Portland hitters on Saturday, but re- ceived no offensive support in a hard-luck loss.
PLENTY OF PITCHING NEEDED: Due to three straight postponed games in Portland on their first road trip of the season, the Rumble Ponies will play two doubleheaders in the series at Hadlock Field. Binghamton is set for twin bills on Friday and Sun- day.
SCORE A RUN, WIN A PRIZE: Six of Binghamton'slast seven games have ended with one team being shut out. Binghamton is 3-3 in those shutout games, with two victories ending in 1-0 finals. The Rumble Ponies won seven shutouts and lost ten games by shutout last season.
POWER OUTAGE OVER: Sam Haggerty's solo homer in the sixth inning on Wednesday night snapped a stretch of six games without a home run by the Rumble Ponies, their longest drought ofthe season. It was Binghamton's longest long balldrought since they went six straight games with no home runs in July 2018. Since 2008, Bing-hamton's longest homerless stretch was an 11- game power outage in July 2017.
BULLPEN GETTING IT DONE: Binghamton's bull-pen has combined for a 1.14 ERA in their last eight games. Rumble Ponies relievers have allowed just three earned runs in 23.2 innings during thestretch. Binghamton's bullpen has compiled a 2.69ERA in 2019.
SWEET TOFFEY: Ponies infielder Will Toffey has hit safely in nine of his last ten games. He has gone 10 -for-30 (.333) at the plate during the stretch with three doubles. He has raised his batting average to a season-best .237.

Gimenez's doubled home tworuns in a three-hit game on Wednesday. It was his third three-hit game of the season. Gimenez had eight games with three hits between St. Lucie (High-A) and Binghamton last season.
HELLO AGAIN, DOGS: Binghamton meets up with Portland for the second time this season. The Sea Dogs took two-of-three from the Rumble Ponies at NYSEG Stadium last week. Each game was decided via shutout.
