
Rubberducks Have Limited Tickets Remaining for Friday & Saturday

(AKRON, OHIO) Aug. 7, 2014 - The Akron RubberDucks announced today that there are limited tickets remaining for Friday, Aug. 8 and Saturday, Aug. 9. Following Saturday's game, there are only two fireworks nights left at Canal Park in the 2014 season, Aug. 29 and Aug. 30 vs. Erie SeaWolves. The previous four fireworks nights leading into this weekend were sold out.
During Friday's 7:05 p.m. game against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the team will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of "The Wizard of Oz" with a post-game fireworks display set to classic songs from the film. Following the fireworks, fans are welcome to stay for a post-game showing of the film, synced to the Pink Floyd album "Dark Side of the Moon."
Saturday's 7:05 p.m. game will be packed with promotions, beginning with Browns Night and Bernie Kosar Bobblehead Giveaway presented by WKSU for the first 1,000 fans through the gates, which open at 6:00 p.m. Fans will also have the chance to win a game-worn jersey in our special jersey auction on the concourse, which extends through the first six innings of the game. Fireworks set to the classic tunes of Bon Jovi, presented by Albert Guarnieri & Co., will follow the game.
Tickets still remain for tonight's game at 7:05 p.m. against the New Britain Rock Cats, and on Sunday, Aug. 10, at 2:05 p.m. against the Fisher Cats. Tonight, is the team's Oktoberfest celebration and another Thirsty Thursday sponsored by D.G. Yuengling Brewery with $1 drafts and sodas. Sunday's game will mark another Sunday Family FUNday, where Quack Pack Kids Club members can play pre-game catch on the field and enjoy postgame Kids Run the Bases, presented by Smith Dairy. The RubberDucks also will be celebrating Grandparent's Day, sponsored by Dignity Memorial, a month early on Sunday with bingo and a post-game prom for senior citizens.
Following this homestand, there will only be 11 chances to catch the Akron RubberDucks in 2014 regular season at Canal Park. A three-game homestand against the Altoona Curve will take place Aug. 19-21. The regular season wraps up with an eight-game homestand over Labor Day weekend, comprised of a four-game series against the Trenton Thunder on Aug. 25-28 and a four-game series against the Erie SeaWolves on Aug. 29 - Sept. 1.
The Akron RubberDucks are the Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. The 2014 season is its 18th since moving to Canal Park and its first since becoming the RubberDucks.
