Harrisburg Senators News Release

Paolo Espino continued his outstanding pitching of late with another quality five innings, but the Harrisburg Senators' offense could not support him in a 3-0 loss to the Reading Fightin' Phils at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Espino struggled with a high pitch count, throwing 96 pitches in his five innings. However, in those five frames, the right-hander allowed just one run on three hits with six strikeouts. The solid start lowered Espino's season ERA to 3.94. Derek Self followed Espino by allowing a solo home run in the sixth and an RBI single in the seventh, extending Reading's lead to 3-0. Sam Runion pitched a scoreless eighth inning for Harrisburg.

Quincy Latimore legged out an infield single in the first inning and then stole second and third base, but was stranded there to end the inning. Caleb Ramsey provided the only other Senators' hit with a double down the right field line in the third inning. Latimore followed with a walk and the two baserunners executed a two-out, double-steal, only to be left there as the inning ended. Latimore's three stolen bases ties Destin Hood for most base thefts in a game by a Senator this season.

The Senators return home for a 7:00 p.m. start against the Binghamton Mets tomorrow night.. Harrisburg will send Austin Voth to the hill against the B-Mets' Gabriel Ynoa. The game can be heard beginning with the pregame show at 6:50 p.m. on 1460 AM or via senatorsbaseball.com, 1460theticket.com or the iHeart Radio app.
