Royals Trade for Trent Lofthouse

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals are pleased to announce that the club has traded for forward Trent Lofthouse (1994) from the Everett Silvertips. In exchange, the Royals have sent a sixth round draft pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft to the Silvertips.

This season, Lofthouse has appeared in 34 games for Everett. The 6-3, 185 lb forward has collected 12 points (9g-3a) to go along with 19 penalty minutes so far in the 2012-13 WHL season. Lofthouse recorded his first WHL hat trick last month in a December 4th win over the Vancouver Giants.

Lofthouse also spent the 2011-12 season as a member of the Everett Silvertips. In his rookie season, the Surrey, BC native notched two goals and three assists as well as 24 penalty minutes for the Silvertips and went on to appear in three games with Everett in the 2012 WHL Playoffs.

Prior to making his WHL debut, Lofthouse was a member of the 2010-11 Valley West Hawks team in the BC Major Midget Hockey League (BCMML). In 37 games played, Lofthouse recorded 16 points (9g-7a) and registered 40 penalty minutes.

The Royals welcome the Tri-City Americans to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre this weekend for a two-game set.
