Kamloops, BC - At the conclusion of tonight's game, General Manager Craig Bonner announced the acquisition of 20-year-old forward Kale Kessy from the Vancouver Giants in exchange for 18-year-old forward Rob Trzonkowski and a fifth round WHL Bantam Draft Pick in 2015.
Kessy, who is a fourth round NHL pick of the Phoenix Coyotoes, has played 221 WHL games with the Medicine Hat Tigers and Vancouver Giants over the past four seasons.
The 6'3" and 202lb forward has nine goals, nine assists, 18 points and 62 penalty minutes in 29 games played this season. The Shaunavon, SK native also has suited up for 28 WHL playoff games over the past three seasons.
"Kale is a big bodied forward that will make us a tougher group to play against," commented Bonner. "We were in a position to add a 20-year-old, and felt that Kale was the best fit available for our team moving forward."
This transaction has the Blazers roster at 23 players including 13 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders.
