Kichton Will Play 300th Career Game Friday Night

The next time Brenden Kichton steps onto the ice in a Spokane jersey he will join seven other players who have played in 300 career games as a Chief. The captain, who has rewritten the Chiefs' record book for defensemen, will become the first blueliner in Spokane history to accomplish the feat.

Kichton and the Chiefs will take to the road for the next three games visiting Everett on Friday and Seattle on Saturday and Tuesday, January 8th.

Friday's game can be heard on 1510 KGA at 7:00 p.m. while Saturday's broadcast will begin on AM 790 KJRB at 6:30 p.m.

Kichton already is the Chiefs' all-time leading defenseman in goals scored, assists and points. Overall, his 172 assists are fourth all-time as a Chief, just 14 behind Mitch Wahl for third most in Spokane history.

Eventually, Kichton will be joined in the 300 club by Blake Gal, who has appeared in 290 career games heading into the weekend. Gal's games played total is currently ninth all-time. The two will become just the second set of teammates to have played in their 300th career game in the same season joining Mason Wallin and Tim Krymusa who did it in the 2003 season. Both Gal (second round) and Kichton (third round) were products of the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft.

NOTES VERSUS EVERETT

Spokane will travel to Everett for the second time this season in their fifth of eight meetings. After dropping their first game of the season to the Silvertips on October 26th 6-5, Spokane has outscored Everett 12-1 and has had a pair of shutouts. Overall, the Chiefs are 3-1 versus the Silvertips. Including Friday's game, Spokane will play three more times in Everett and host the Silvertips just one more time; Friday, March 8th. The Silvertips picked up a 6-5 win on October 26th in their first game of the year. The Chiefs outshot Everett 34-26. Todd Fiddler had two goals and an assist while Mike Aviani had a pair of assists. Five different players scored goals in Spokane's 5-0 win on Saturday, November 3rd. Connor Chartier, Todd Fiddler and Brenden Kichton each finished with a goal and assist. Eric Williams stopped 26 shots for the shutout. In their next game, just three days later on November 6th, Garret Hughson made 22 saves in a 4-0 win. Mikulas Rimmel, Connor Chartier, Dylan Walchuk and Adam Helewka scored goals. The Chiefs outshot Everett 35-22. Fiddler scored two more goals and Reid Gow had a goal and assist in the Chiefs 3-1 win on November 21st. Spokane outshot Everett 38-21. On average, the Chiefs are outshooting Everett 34.5-238. Spokane finished with an 8-1-1-0 record with one win in overtime last season against the Silvertips.

NOTES VERSUS SEATTLE

The Chiefs will begin a three game series against the Seattle Thunderbirds with the first two being played on the road Saturday and Tuesday. Spokane will host the Thunderbirds on Wednesday, January 9th. The Chiefs and Thunderbirds will play each other just one more time after the three game set as Spokane will host Seattle on Wednesday, March 6th. Spokane is 4-1 on the season versus the Thunderbirds including a 7-6 shootout Chief victory at home on December 14th. Spokane trailed 6-2 with 11:51 remaining in the game. Mitch Holmberg scored three straight and Mike Aviani tied it up with 55-seconds left. The Chiefs scored twice in the shootout while Garret Hughson held Seattle to one goal on three chances. Spokane outshot the Thunderbirds 46-25. Overall, Holmberg has four goals and eight points in four games. Todd Fiddler has five goals, including a hat trick on November 17th in a 3-1 win, and six points in five games. Mike Aviani has three goals and six points in the series. Tyler King is +6. On average, Spokane has outshot Seattle 36.5-24.8.
