
Hitmen record multiple milestones in season-high 10-goal victory

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen defeated the Brandon Wheat Kings 10-2 Wednesday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Six Hitmen recorded three-point performances, while Brady Brassart (1g, 3a) registered a career-high four-point game.
Rookies Chase Lang (2g, 1a) and Austin Calladine ("KAL-ah-dean") each scored their first career Western Hockey League marker in the season-high 10-goal game.
Brooks Macek notched his second career WHL hat trick in the win, while Zane Jones (1g, 2a), Chase Clayton (3a), Alex Roach (3a) and Cody Sylvester (3a) also had three-point outings. Sylvester reached the milestone of 100 career WHL assists with his first helper on the second Hitmen goal of the night.
Ukrainian import Pavlo Padakin (2g) opened scoring as Calgary built period leads of 3-1 and 4-1.
Special teams played a significant factor in the Hitmen victory as Calgary recorded half of their goals on 5-of-9 power play opportunities.
Chris Driedger made 16 saves for Calgary as the Hitmen outshot the Wheat Kings 44-18.
Calgary, now 25-10-1-3, will remain at home for two more games, hosting the Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday, January 4 and Vancouver Giants on Sunday, January 6. Friday's contest begins at 7 p.m., while puck drop is 4 p.m. on Sunday.
