Victoria Royals News Release

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals today announced that the club has partnered with Capital Iron and Save-On-Foods in preparation for the club's annual Teddy Bear Toss Night on Saturday, December 7th versus the Vancouver Giants.

Marty the Marmot bears are now on sale at both Capital Iron locations and Save-On-Foods stores in the Greater Victoria area for $10.00 or two for $15.00. All proceeds from the sale of Marty the Marmot bears will go towards the BC Children's Hospital. Those who purchase a bear from these locations will also receive one $5.00 discount voucher valid for a ticket to the Royals' 2013 Teddy Bear Toss Night on December 7th for each bear bought.

Teddy Bear Toss Night is a Canadian junior hockey tradition in which fans are encouraged to bring their new or gently-used teddy bears and stuffed toys to the game and throw them on the ice following the home team's first goal. The teddy bears and stuffed toys are donated to local charities and used by the Royals during hospital visits throughout the season.

The Royals will host 2015 NHL Draft top prospect Mathew Barzal and the Seattle Thunderbirds at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre for a two-game set beginning tomorrow night. Puck drop is scheduled 7:05 p.m. on Friday night.
