Calgary, AB - The 2013-14 WHL regular season enters its third weekend of play in November with 19 games on the schedule for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

AROUND THE RINKS...

BMO Ultimate Fan Appreciation Nights will take place in three WHL arenas this weekend, with the Prince Albert Raiders, Lethbridge Hurricanes and Saskatoon Blades all aiming to reward their Ultimate Fan.

In Brandon, MB, Wheat Kings fans can get their hands on a 2013-14 Team Poster at Friday night's meeting with the Saskatoon Blades.

In Calgary, AB, Hitmen fans will have an opportunity for a Chat With The Hitmen on Tuesday, November 19th. Members of the Hitmen will take to the airwaves for their Town Hall on The Fan 960, answering questions from fans.

In Everett, WA, fans will have the chance to take home Silvertips' head coach Kevin Constantine In Bobblehead Form on Friday night when the Portland Winterhawks come to town.

In Red Deer, AB, the Rebels are hosting Sockey Night In Red Deer on Friday night when the Moose Jaw Warriors pay a visit. Fans can win prizes while supporting the United Way by throwing socks onto the ice during intermission.

In Spokane, WA, the Chiefs have introduced their own wine, Chiefs Red. A Cabernet Sauvignon produced by Arbor Crest Wine Cellars, a portion of each bottle of Chiefs Red sold will go to the Chiefs Care initiative.

In Kennewick, WA, the Americans host the inaugural Shaun Vey Aware Down There Night when the Regina Pats come to town. Vey, a former Ams star, has recovered from testicular cancer, and hopes to help raise awareness and raise funds for the Tri-Cities Cancer Awareness Foundation.

In Vancouver, BC, fans can get a glimpse into the Giants' Future on Saturday night when 2013 first overall Bantam Draft pick Tyler Benson makes his WHL debut versus the Tri-City Americans.

In Victoria, BC, fans can help celebrate Marty The Marmot's Birthday on Saturday night when the Royals host the second of back-to-back contests versus the Seattle Thunderbirds.

WHL ANNOUNCES SUBWAY® SUPER SERIES GAME ROSTERS & ADDITIONS...

The Western Hockey League, in collaboration with the Canadian Hockey League, the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club and the Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club, on Wednesday announced the Team WHL rosters, including additional players, which will compete against Team Russia in the 2013 SUBWAY® Super Series in Red Deer and Lethbridge, AB.

Goaltender Tristan Jarry of the Edmonton Oil Kings and forward Conner Bleackley of the Red Deer Rebels have been added to the initial 22-man roster for Team WHL announced on November 4th.

38 WHL PLAYERS MAKE NHL CENTRAL SCOUTINGS LATEST "˜WATCH LIST'...

35 WHL skaters and three WHL goaltenders are among the players listed in NHL Central Scouting's latest "˜Players to Watch' list for the 2014 NHL Draft.

Eight WHL players were listed in the "˜A' Skaters category, which indicates they are a possible first-round pick for the 2014 NHL Draft. Kootenay forward Sam Reinhart, Portland's Chase De Leo, Calgary's Jake Virtanen, Prince Albert's Leon Draisaitl, Red Deer's Haydn Fleury and Swift Current Broncos defenders Julius Honka and Brycen Martin have been joined by fast-rising Saskatoon Blades forward Nikita Scherbak as WHL skaters rated in the "˜A' category.

22 WHL PLAYERS NAMED TO TEAM PACIFIC...

Red Deer, Alta - Hockey Alberta and BC Hockey announced Thursday, November 14, 2013 the 22-player roster that will represent Team Pacific at the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, December 29, 2013 to January 4, 2014 in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

All 22 players on the roster currently play in the Western Hockey League.

FORMER KAMLOOPS BLAZER NIEDERMAYER INDUCTED TO HALL OF FAME...

Former Blazers star defenceman Scott Niedermayer is the only player in history to win every major North American and international championship. He won the Stanley Cup four times (1995, 2000, 2003, 2007) and a gold medal at the Olympics (2002, 2010), the World Championship (2004), the World Cup of Hockey (2004), and the World Junior Championship (1991). He also won the Memorial Cup with the Kamloops Blazers in 1992.

"It's pretty surreal to get this call to be told you're being inducted into the Hall of Fame," Niedermayer said, inducted alongside Chris Chelios, Brendan Shannahan, Fred Shero and Geraldine Heaney. "It'll probably take a long time for it to sink in. It's a pretty impressive group and it's a real honor to be part of such a great group."

The 2013 SUBWAY® Super Series is fast approaching, with the final two games of the six-game series set for November 27th in Red Deer, AB, and on November 28th in Lethbridge, AB.

The last time the event was held in these locations, in 2004, Team WHL featured current NHL stars such as Brent Seabrook and Kris Versteeg, both former Lethbridge Hurricanes, and Dion Phaneuf and Colin Fraser, who both played for the Red Deer Rebels.

FRIDAY NIGHT WHL HOCKEY ON SHAW...

Josh Morrissey and the Prince Albert Raiders welcome Sam Reinhart and the Kootenay Ice for an Eastern Conference match-up on Friday night, live on SHAW and SHAW Direct channel 299 (7:00pm CT).

The Raiders skated to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Saskatoon Blades on Wednesday night, snapping a three-game losing skid, and currently sit in third place in the Eastern Conference. The Raiders are 8-3-1-0 at home this season. Morrissey ranks second on the Raiders in scoring with 22 points this season.

The Ice dropped a 3-0 decision to the Broncos in Swift Current on Wednesday night, ending a two-game win streak, and currently occupy a share of fifth place in the Eastern Conference. Kootenay's power play is operating at 23.7% efficiency on the road. Reinhart leads the Ice with 25 assists and 34 points.

It's the second meeting of the season between the Ice and Raiders. Kootenay claimed a 2-0 win over the Raiders in Cranbrook, BC, on October 13th in the first encounter.

KEY WEEKEND MATCH-UPS...

Portland @ Everett

Friday, November 15th

Jujhar Khaira and the Everett Silvertips take on Chase De Leo and the Portland Winterhawks for a match-up between top U.S. Division contenders on Friday night.

The "˜Tips are coming off a 6-5 overtime setback to the visiting Regina Pats on Wednesday night for their second overtime setback in three games, and currently sit two points back of Portland for top spot in the U.S. Division and Western Conference standings. Wednesday's loss snapped a four-game home-ice win streak for Everett.

The Winterhawks skated to a 10-2 thrashing of the visiting Seattle Thunderbirds on Tuesday night for their second win in a row. Portland has scored a whopping 109 goals through their first 22 games this season, which is 16 more than the next highest goal total. De Leo has 15 goals and 25 points this season.

It's the first meeting of the season between the Hawks and "˜Tips. Last season, Portland won nine of 10 regular-season meetings versus Everett, and eliminated the "˜Tips in six games in the first round of the 2013 WHL Playoffs.

Medicine Hat Tigers @ Kelowna Rockets

Madison Bowey and the Kelowna Rockets battle Hunter Shinkaruk and the Medicine Hat Tigers in a meeting of division leaders on Saturday night in Kelowna, BC.

The Rockets are coming off a 2-0 shutout win over the visiting Edmonton Oil Kings last Saturday for their seventh consecutive victory, and currently sit in first place in the B.C. Division. The Rockets have outscored their opposition 30-13 over their last seven games. Bowey, a Washington Capitals prospect, has six goals and 18 points this season.

The Tigers skated to a 3-1 win in Kamloops over the Blazers on Wednesday for their fourth win in a row and their eighth win in nine outings, and currently lead the Central Division. The Tigers have outscored their opponents 12-4 over their last three road games. Shinkaruk has five goals and 13 points in 11 games this season.

It's the first meeting of the season between the Rockets and Tigers. The teams split two meetings last season, with both encounters taking place in Medicine Hat.
