Jansen Harkins and Brad Morrison Both Named to Team Pacific's Roster for 2014 World U-17 Hockey Chal

Prince George, B.C. - The Prince George Cougars are pleased to announce that 16-year-old forwards Jansen Harkins (North Vancouver, B.C.) and Brad Morrison (West Kelowna, B.C.) have both been named to the Team Pacific roster for the upcoming 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. The tournament begins on December 29th, 2013 in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and wraps up on January 4th, 2014.
Harkins was selected by the Prince George Cougars second overall in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft. So far in his rookie campaign, Harkins has tallied three goals and six points and has been used in all situations early on in his WHL career. He is one of only six Cougars to have dressed in all 24 games so far this season.
"I'm just excited right now. It's an honor to be able to represent your country in any way and I'm looking forward to it," said Harkins moments after learning the news. "Brad and I are good friends now, and hopefully we can add some chemistry to the team and do well at U-17's."
Brad Morrison was also selected by the Prince George Cougars in the first round (seventh overall) in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft. Morrison has three goals and four points, including two game winners through 19 games.
"It's a really big honor to be named to Team Pacific," adds Morrison. "Hopefully we can win, because it looks like we're going to have a strong team. I can't wait to get started."
Last season the Prince George Cougars had three members of their organization involved with Team Pacific. Carson Bolduc suited up for Team Pacific while Assistant Coach Jason Becker served as head coach and Wade Klippenstein served as head scout.
The Under 17 program is the first step in Hockey Canada's Program of Excellence. Many players who compete at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge go on to represent Canada with the National Men's Under 18 Team, National Junior Team and National Men's Team.
