Kelowna, BC - The Victoria Royals jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first period, and held off a Kelowna Rockets' comeback for a 4-3 win on Friday night for the club's fifth consecutive victory.

Early Strike: In tonight's game, Royals' forward Dante Hannoun opened the scoring 1:26 into the contest. This was the quickest opening tally for Victoria since February 14, 2018, when Tyler Soy scored 1:02 into a game against the Edmonton Oil Kings. The franchise record for fastest opening goal is nine seconds, which has taken place on two separate occasions by Royals' alumnus Taylor Crunk (March 8, 2014 vs. Kamloops Blazers) and former Chilliwack Bruin Ryan Howse (January 9, 2011 vs. Seattle).
