Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Connor Dewar's overtime goal 17 seconds into the extra period and a two-point night from Bryce Kindopp helped lift the Everett Silvertips past the Seattle Thunderbirds, 2-1 in overtime in front of 6,574 at A.O.T.W. Arena in downtown Everett on Friday in U.S. Division action.

The Silvertips offensive presence was clear all night, as the team in pink tallied 41 shots in regulation, compared to the Thunderbirds 17.

UP NEXT: The Silvertips return to action tomorrow night against the visiting Portland Winterhawks (1380 AM / 95.3 FM / Tips App / WHL Live). Tickets remain on sale including the Fan 4-Pack at www.everettsilvertips.com/tickets.

In a scoreless first period, the Silvertips logged 11 shots on goal compared to three shots from the Thunderbirds. Everett rookie forward Gage Goncalves was hauled off for a hooking minor at 14:07, followed by Seattle's 0-for-1 start on the power play.

Though scoreless, the Silvertips offensive pressure continued into the second period as they added another 15 shots on goal in that period (26 SOG through 2 periods).

A scrum in front of the net at 9:20 sent Silvertips forward Sean Richards and Thunderbirds winger Dillon Hamaliuk to the box for roughing.

The physical play continued as Thunderbirds blue liner Payton McIsaac was sent to the box at 10:21 for roughing, which set-up an Everett power play goal at 10:45. Bryce Kindopp netted the game's first goal off a no-look pass from captain Connor Dewar near the crease off a pass from forward Riley Sutter.

Everett forward Sean Richards was sent to the locker room after a 5 minute checking to the head major, a penalty served by Jackson Berezowski.

With under two minutes left in regulation, Seattle pulled their goal for an extra attacker. Over a minute later, Seattle's Hamaliuk tied the game, 1-1, with 57 seconds left in regulation.

It took Connor Dewar and the Silvertips 17 seconds to score the game-winning goal off an assist from Kindopp.
