KENNEWICK, WA - Tri-City Americans General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has acquired 19-year-old defenseman Dominic Schmiemann from the Calgary Hitmen for a 4th round Bantam Draft pick in 2019 and a conditional 5th round pick in 2020.

"With the long-term injury to Anthony Bishop we felt it was necessary to add a veteran defenseman," said Bob Tory.

"Dominic is a solid stay-at-home defenseman with three years of experience in the Western Hockey League. He is a character player who will have an immediate impact with our hockey club."

The 6'4, 200-pound defenseman was selected in the 1st round of the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft by the Swift Current Broncos.
