Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals scored eight goals and Griffen Outhouse collected his third shutout of the season in a 8-0 victory over the Vancouver Giants on Saturday night.

Outhouse turned away all 27 shots he faced to set the franchise record for most shutouts by a goaltender in his rookie season. He surpassed former netminder Patrik Polivka (2012-13). The Royals' Tyler Soy earned first star honours as he recorded two goals and an assist, while Matthew Phillips and Ethan Price each tallied two markers on the night. Victoria's remaining goals were scored by Vladimir Bobylev and Dante Hannoun. The Royals' Jack Walker registered three assists and a +5 rating on the night.

With the victories tonight and on Wednesday (January 20th vs. Medicine Hat, 8-2), the Royals recorded their first ever back-to-back eight goal games in the franchise's history.

Vancouver's goaltender Jake Morrissey stopped 22 of 30 shots.

The Royals were 1/1=100.0% with the man-advantage, while the Giants went 0/3=0.0% on the powerplay.

Victoria and Vancouver are back in action tomorrow afternoon with puck drop scheduled for 2:05 p.m. The Royals will then clash with the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday at 7:05 p.m. to conclude their six-game home stand.
