READING, PA – The Reading Royals, ECHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have traded the rights to all-star defenseman Jonathan Zion and forward Nick Lent to the Greenville Grrrowl for all star forward Chris Lynch and defenseman Eric Lind.

Lynch, 26, has appeared in 41 games with the Grrrowl this season and tallied 21 goals and 19 assists for 40 points. He was the Grrrowl leader in the following categories: goals scored (21), points (40), power play goals (7), power play points (12), first goals (4) and shots (137). His 85 penalty minutes ranked third on the Greenville squad. The second year pro made his first ECHL All-Star appearance in Peoria this season. Last season, Lynch appeared in 66 games with Trenton and Greenville of the ECHL and scored 21 goals and 49 points. The 5-foot-11, 210-pound forward racked up 146 minutes in penalties. In addition, the Duxbury, Massachusetts native has also appeared in six AHL games in his young career with Providence, Binghamton and Bridgeport registering one assist.

Lind, 26, has appeared in 18 games for the Grrrowl this season. He has scored two goals and registered six points while racking up 25 penalty minutes since rejoining the Grrrowl from Europe on December 16. The Connecticut native began the season in Manchester, England with the Manchester Phoenix of the BISL. In 27 appearances, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound defenseman, scored six goals and tallied 13 points. This was Lind's third season with Greenville after being traded from Mississippi in 2001-02. He was part of the Grrrowl's Kelly Cup Championship team in 2001-02. Lind attended the University of New Hampshire prior to turning pro.

Coach Derek Clancey said he felt the Royals club needed to make some adjustments, "Over the past two weeks we have been in a bit of a funk. Our division is going to be a battle for the rest of the season and we feel this will make us stronger for the stretch run."

The Reading Royals take the ice at home on Wednesday, January 11 against the Trenton Titans at 7:05 p.m. It's Sopranos Night in the Sovereign Center; if your name ends in a vowel you receive $1 off walk up ticket prices. The Royals play a pair of games on the weekend. Reading battles the Johnstown Chiefs on Valentines Day at 7:05 p.m. It's the seventh game of the Keystone Cup Series. The game is presented by St. Joseph Medical Center and Van Scoy Jewelers. Sunday, the Royals and Cincinnati Cyclones go head-to-head for the third time this season at 5:05 p.m. Leesport Bank is giving away Royals blinking buttons to the first 1,000 fans through the gate.
