Round Rock Rides Five-Run Fourth, Fifth to 10-6 Victory

Round Rock, TX - Albuquerque held a 4-0 lead after four turns at the plate but the Express plated five runs in both the fourth and fifth frames en route to a 10-6 triumph Wednesday night at Dell Diamond.

Topes Scope: - The Isotopes have lost four-straight for the second time in the second half (also: July 19-22 at Sugar Land) and dropped at least four in-a-row for the seventh time overall this year. Albuquerque has also lost four-straight to Round Rock for the 10th time in club history.

-With the loss, Albuquerque drops the season series to Round Rock. It's the first time in club history the team has lost back-to-back season series to the Express.

-Albuquerque stole four bases on the night, the eighth time the club has recorded at least four stolen bases in a game in 2023 (last: Aug. 2 vs. Las Vegas, six).

-The Isotopes registered just four hits on the night, the fifth time the team has been held to four knocks and first time since June 8 vs. Sugar Land. Also, Albuquerque tallied just two extra-base hits for the second night in-a-row and 19th time in 2023.

-In his second rehab game with the Isotopes, Sean Bouchard went 1-for-4 with a two single and a walk. In two Triple-A rehab games, Bouchard is 2-for-7 with two RBI and two walks. Over eight rehab games between ACL, High-A Fresno and Albuquerque, he is 8-for-27 (.296) with two doubles, a homer, seven RBI and two walks.

-Coco Montes collected two hits, a homer and three RBI in his first game back with the club since being sent down from Colorado Monday. It's his team-leading 34th multi-hit effort of the year and third-straight at the Triple-A level, the fourth time in 2023 he's registered three-straight multi-hit games and one off his season-high set twice (April 8-12 and May 12-16). He has also homered in two-straight games for the second time this year.

-Hunter Goodman roped an RBI double in the fifth frame, his second extra-base hit in two games with the Isotopes (grand slam).

-Wynton Bernard drew two walks for the ninth time in 2023 and second time since joining the Isotopes.

-Jimmy Herron's six-game hitting streak (11x22) came to an end but he did draw two walks for the 10th time this year. He has reached base in 27 of his last 29 games, including nine-straight. During that stretch, he is slashing .376/.496/.584 with seven doubles, one triple, four homers, 23 RBI, 14 stolen bases and 22 walks. Additinally, he stole two bags for the sixth time this year and first since Aug. 2 vs. Las Vegas.

-Right-hander reliever Victor Vodnik pitched a scoreless sixth inning and allowed two hits in his Isotopes debut after being called up from Double-A Hartford Tuesday.

-Albuquerque drew 10 walks on the night, the sixth time collecting double-digit walks in a game this season (last: Aug. 2 vs. Las Vegas).

- Additionally, the Isotopes struck out 11 times. It's the second time this year the offense has tallied double-digit strikeouts and walks (also: July 6 at Oklahoma City, 10 walks and 11 punchouts).

-The Isotopes have allowed a homer in 14-straight games, the longest home run streak since the team also relented 14 from June 2-18, 2022.

-Round Rock's Sandro Fabian belted a grand slam in the fourth frame, the 10th relented by Albuquerque this year, the most surrendered in all of Triple-A.

-Albuquerque gave up five runs in the fourth and fifth innings, the fourth time allowing at least five runs in two frames overall and second time against Round Rock this year (also: April 13 at El Paso; April 30 at Round Rock; and July 28 vs. Sacramento).

-The Isotopes have allowed double-digit runs to Round Rock in four-straight games for the first time in the 18-year history between the clubs.

-Over 16 games at Round Rock and Sugar Land, the Isotopes are just 4-12 in Texas this season.

On Deck: The Isotopes and Express meet for the game three Thursday at 6:05 pm MT. Albuquerque is slated to send Ben Braymer to the hill while Round Rock is expected to start Robert Dugger.
