Rough Start Dooms Stars For Second Straight Night

PEORIA, IL--- The Peoria Rivermen scored three first period goals on their way to building a 5-0 lead in a 6-2 win over the Iowa Stars in Peoria Saturday night. The loss was the first for the Stars this season in Peoria after three wins. Last night the Milwaukee Admirals scored four times in the first period in their 5-2 win in Milwaukee. The Stars, who have dropped their last three, return home to host the Quad City Flames Friday night at 7:07 at Wells Fargo Arena.

B.J. Crombeen scored the both of the Stars' goals, his 13th and 14th, in the third period. Matt Climie made his pro debut in net for the Stars after signing an amateur contract earlier this week and took the loss, seeing 41 shots. The Rivermen finished with the shots advantage 41-26 meaning the Stars have been outshot 143-90 over the past four games.

Konstantin Pushkarev also had his franchise record nine-game scoring streak snapped in the game.
