
Marlies Clinch Playoff Berth With Win Over Hamilton

A proud member of the American Hockey League, the Toronto Marlies became only the second team in the AHL to clinch a playoff spot for the 2007-08 Calder Cup Playoffs. In addition to establishing a post-season spot, the Marlies recorded their franchise best, 94th point of the season on Saturday against the Hamilton Bulldogs with a 3-1 victory.
With the win, Toronto broke the previous franchise mark of 92 points, which was set during the 2005-06 campaign in their inaugural season in the AHL. The Marlies reached the 94-point plateau with 11 games remaining in the 2007-08 season. The Marlies are currently in first place in the North Division with a record of 43-18-3-5 for 94 points.
The Marlies travel to Syracuse to battle the Crunch - AHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets - on Wednesday evening with puck
drop scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Marlies face-off against the Lake Erie Monsters - AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche - on Friday night
at 7:30 p.m. Toronto returns home for games on Saturday against the Manitoba Moose - AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks - at 7:00
