Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee, WI--Despite Mother Nature dropping over a foot of snow on the Bradley Center Friday night, the Milwaukee Admirals stayed hot with a 5-2 win over the Iowa Stars. All 4,101 fans that made the trek to the arena were treated to the Ads seventh straight victory and their sixth straight on home ice.

Milwaukee came out with guns blazing as they scored two goals just 40 seconds apart just past the midway point of the first period. Left wing John Laliberte was the first to get on the board as he tipped in an Andreas Theuresson shot through the legs of Iowa netminder Tobias Stephan at the 13:59 mark.

The Admirals third line would strike again at the 13:23 point as Kevin Ulanski fired a snapshot from the left faceoff circle past an out of position Stephan that zipped just inside the far post.

The Ads would build a three goal lead when Josh Langfeld scored his 19th goal of the season on a two on two rush by one-timing a drop pass from Jason Guerriero that sailed just under the crossbar. The goal came at the 6:21 mark of the first period.

Iowa would get on the board with 4:21 remaining in the first frame as James Neal fired off a wrist shot from the bottom of the left circle that beat goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris over him left shoulder.

Milwaukee would end the period with the momentum as John Vigilante snagged a loose rebound in front of Stephen and threw in a quick deke before stuffing the puck into the open goal.

Milwaukee began the second period shorthanded as they took a penalty for delaying the game when they arrived late for the start of the second period. While the Stars did not convert on the power-play, they did score before the penalized Milwaukee player could get back into the play. The goal came at the 2:05 mark as Konstantin Pushkarev pushed a rebound underneath Grumet-Morris to close the lead to two.

Milwaukee would get the last laugh as they scored at the 11:04 mark of the third. Cal O'Reilly tabbed his 15th goal of the season as he received a backhand pass from Langfeld in the slot to a streaking O'Reilly who slammed the puck past an out of position Stephan.

The victory marked the first win for Grumet-Morris at home as he stopped 23 of 25 Iowa shots.

Five different players lit the lamp for Milwaukee with John Laliberte, Kevin Ulanski, Josh Langfeld, and Cal O'Reilly each tallying a goal and an assist.

With the win, Milwaukee currently sits only one point out of second place in the West Division with just 12 games remaining in the regular season. The Admirals take to the snowy roads tomorrow night as they face off against the Rockford IceHogs for a 7:00 drop.

The IceHogs will follow Milwaukee back to the Bradley Center for another 7:00 pm game on Monday night. Monday's game is a special Foley and Lardner Family Night where fans can get four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas for just $40. Those packages must be purchased by noon on Monday.

For tickets fans can call Ticketmaster at (414) 276-4545 or log on to www.ticketmaster.com. Groups of ten or more can call the Admirals office at (414) 227-0550.
