Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans look for their third win in a row tonight as they return to the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena for the second straight week to do battle with the Binghamton Senators. The 7:05 p.m. contest can be heard live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 networks.

The Senators have not been kind to the Amerks this season, coming up victorious in all six previous meetings between the two teams this season. In their most recent encounter, the Sens took a 4-3 overtime decision from Rochester, despite a late third-period come back from the Amerks. Tonight's game, the third in three nights for Rochester, is the seventh of eight meetings between the two clubs. The Amerks are 18-22-4 all-time against the Ottawa Senators' affiliate.

The Amerks (20-38-6-4) enter the contest after doubling up division rival Grand Rapids Griffins 4-2 last night at The Blue Cross Arena. Dylan Hunter netted a pair of goals, while Clarke MacArthur and Marc-Andre Gragnani each tallied a goal and an assist. Mark Mancari leads the way with 47 points (16+31). Following closely on Mancari's heels is Gragnani with 45 points (11+34). The defenseman-turned-forward is currently tied for fourth in the league in rookie scoring, while his 34 helpers on the year are a team best. Newcomer Tommy Goebel made a quick splash on the team as he recorded three points (1+2) in his first two professional games. Stefan Meyer leads the team in goals with 18 on the season. Adam Dennis has recently improved his record to 16-21-2 on the season.

The B-Sens (31-27-8-4) are coming off an overtime loss to the Providence Bruins. The Bruins scored just 16 seconds into the extra frame to spoil Binghamton's chances for two points. Binghamton is led by former Amerk Denis Hamel with 51 points (30+21) this season. Hamel leads the team in goals by almost double the amount of the second leading scorer from Binghamton. The play maker on the team comes in the form of defenseman Lawrence Nycholat who assisted on 34 goals this season.

Rochester returns home on Wednesday, March 26th to welcome the surging Manitoba Moose back to The Blue Cross Arena for game one of a two-game mini series between the divisional foes. The 7:05 p.m. matchup will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 networks. The game will also be televised live on Time Warner Sports channel 26.
