COMSTOCK PARK - Lansing jumped out to a 5-0 lead, then poured on six runs in the fifth on their way to an 11-2 rout of the Whitecaps.

West Michigan starter Jair Jurrjens was charged with eight runs over four innings pitched. He allowed three of the runs scored in the fifth.

All starters in the Lansing lineup had at least one hit. Six Lugnuts came away with multi-hit games. Eugenio Velez went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI, a double and a run scored.

Lansing's total of sixteen hits matches the most allowed by the Whitecaps this season. West Michigan also yielded sixteen hits against Kane County on June 3.

Nick McIntyre stretched his hitting steak to 16 games for the Whitecaps on a first inning single. He also doubled in the fourth, but was caught stealing twice in the game.

McIntyre, Brent Dlugach and Justin Justice were each 2-for-4 for West Michigan.

The Whitecaps scored thanks to a pair of Lansing errors in the fourth. Brent Dlugach had an RBI single and Matt Parrish drove in a run on a ground out.

Pitchers Kevin Ardoin and P. J. Finigan each made their Whitecaps debuts. Ardoin inherited a pair of runners from Jair Jurrjens and allowed three additional runs as he finished the fifth. Finigan threw a pair of scoreless innings at the end of the game with two hits allowed.

Still a Chance to Split: The final two games of the four game series are at Fifth Third Ballpark this weekend.
