
Rogers Named Batavia Downs Player of the Week

Rochester Red Wings pitcher Taylor Rogers has been named the Batavia Downs Gaming and Racetrack Player of the Week for the period of May 25-31.
Rogers picked up the win on May 27 in Durham, pitching seven innings and allowed seven hits and two earned runs, both in the fourth inning. With the win Rogers improved to 4-3 with a 3.34 ERA this season; his 47 strikeouts are tied with teammate Tommy Milone for sixth in the league as of Sunday.

The rookie was the 11th round pick of the Twins in the 2012 draft after playing college ball at the University of Kentucky...was a mid-season All-Star for Double-A New Britain in 2014, and the top starter on the Rock Cats...twin brother Tyler is a right-handed pitcher in the Giants organization.

Batavia Downs Racetrack
Batavia Downs Racetrack, America's oldest lighted harness track, features live races beginning July 27 until December 12. There will be Sunday afternoon racing at Batavia Downs from August 2 through August 30 with a 1:15 p.m. post. Matinees are also scheduled for Labor Day September 7 and Columbus Day, October 12 also with 1:15 p.m. starts. Click here for this season's race schedule.
