(Pawtucket, RI) The Louisville Bats avoided a series sweep with a 5-1 win on a rainy Sunday afternoon at McCoy Stadium. The Bats chased Justin Masterson, who was making a Major-League-rehab start, with two outs in the second inning; by that time Louisville led by three.

The PawSox got their lone run on Travis Shaw's second home run in as many days but left ten on base. With the win, Louisville won the season series four games to three.

Irving Falu drew an eight-pitch walk to lead off the game against Masterson (0-1). He advanced to second base on a sacrifice, stole third and scored on a passed ball. Pawtucket had a chance to tie the game in their half of the first: they loaded the bases with one out against Louisville starter Jon Moscot, but failed to score.

The Bats tacked on two more in the second. A leadoff walk to Jermaine Curtis was followed by a Ramon Cabrera single that put Bats at the corners to open the inning. Masterson then uncorked a wild pitch to score Curtis. After a strikeout of Ryan LaMarre, Jose Constanza doubled to left, and the Bats led 3-0.

Eugenio Suarez - who broke up the Pawtucket bid for a perfect game on Friday and homered Saturday - belted a solo blast in the third off Zeke Spruill, who had relieved Masterson with two outs in the second.

The Bats got their fifth and final run in the sixth. Suarez led off the inning with a base-hit to left, moved to second on a Curtis groundout and scored when Cabrera singled to right.

The PawSox got on the board when Shaw blasted his fifth homer - and second in as many games. The deep drive to right made it 5-1.

In the eighth, Shaw came up again representing the tying run. Jackie Bradley, Jr. had singled between walks to Matt Spring and Quintin Berry, who saw 10 pitches in his at-bat. But Drew Hayes struck out Shaw to end the Sox' threat.

After Spruill went 3.2 innings for the second time in 2015, Jonathan Aro impressed with 2.1 shutout innings; the righthander Aro struck out four and allowed only one hit.

Pawtucket kicks off a three-city, seven-game roadtrip Monday night in Moosic, PA against the Scranton RailRiders. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 P.M. with Jess Todd (1-1, 4.26) is on the mound for the Sox; he will be opposed by Kyle Davies (3-3, 4.79). Radio coverage begins on WHJJ and online at 6:20.

The PawSox return home Monday, June 8th for the first of a seven-game homestand. Good seats are still available at the McCoy Stadium box office, by calling (401) 724-7300 or by visiting pawsox.com.
