
Bats and Moscot Bounce Back in 5-1 Win

Pawtucket, RI.- The Louisville Bats (25-25) were able to bounce back after back-to-back losses to the Pawtucket Red Sox (26-25) and pick up the win by the score of 5-1 at McCoy Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the series finale. Jon Moscot (7-1) got the win for the Bats.
Louisville wasted little time getting on the board. Irving Falu walked, reached second off of a sacrifice bunt by Hernan Iribarren, stole third, and then scored on a past ball in the top of the first. The Bats quickly added on two more in the second.
In the top of the third inning, the Bats were able to add another run to their lead after a solo homerun by Eugenio Suarez, putting them up by four. In the the top of the sixth, Louisville added another run after Suarez led off the inning with a single and then was brought in by an RBI single by Ramon Cabrera.
Pawtucket was able to break through in the sixth with a solo homerun by Travis Shaw. This would be the last run scored in the ball game.
Offensively for the Bats, Suarez, Cabrera, and LaMarre all were 2-for-4 in the Bats win, with Suarez and Cabrera each picking up one RBI and Suarez scoring twice. For the Red Sox, Jackie Bradley led the way going 3-for-4. Shaw had a single and walk along with his homerun to go 2-for-3 on the day.
For the Bats, Moscot pitched six innings. He gave up four hits, one earned run, and three walks while striking out three.
Justin Masterson (0-1) suffered the loss for Pawtucket.
The Bats will now head to Syracuse to take on the Chiefs in a three game series before heading back to Louisville. Game one will take place on Monday at 7:05 p.m. Dylan Axelrod (2-3, 3.83) is expected to get the start for Louisville. For Syracuse, right-handed pitcher Scott McGregor (3-4, 3.25) will take the mound.
