Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will look to take the series from the Charlotte Knights on Sunday afternoon. First pitch from BB&T Ballpark is slated for 2:05 p.m.
RHP Chris Leroux (0-0, 7.36) will get the start for the IronPigs in the rubber match on Sunday. Leroux's last outing came in relief at Gwinnett on Wednesday when he gave up three runs on six hits while fanning a pair over three innings of work. This will be his first start of the year with the Pigs, but second overall as the right-hander made a start for Triple-A Colorado Springs on April 21. On that day, Leroux surrendered two runs on four hits to go along with a walk and four strikeouts in 4.0 IP as part of a no-decision vs. Round Rock.
RHP Scott Carroll (1-1, 2.45) gets the ball for the Knights. Sunday marks his first appearance in the International League since back on April 22 at Durham when he tossed 5.2 IP and allowed one run on four hits while walking a pair and fanning three in a no-decision. Carroll has spent the last month with the White Sox, going 1-1 with a 3.12 ERA in 8 G. His last outing came on Monday at Toronto as the right-hander allowed a run on two hits to go along with a walk in one inning of work.
Pigs OF Brian Bogusevic has now hit safely in nine of his last ten contests. In that time, the Tulane University product is hitting .333 (12-36)-2-9 with a double, three runs scored and a pair of walks. In fact, Bogusevic is batting .336 (45-134) against right-handed pitchers this season.
