Rodriguez Heads up to Columbus

June 28, 2010 - Eastern League (EL1)
Akron RubberDucks News Release

The Aeros made a roster move Monday as IF Josh Rodriguez was transferred back to Class AAA Columbus. No corresponding move has been announced yet and the Aeros roster currently stands at 23 men.

Rodriguez was with Akron for only two games recently after spending over a month with the Columbus Clippers. He collected two hits in each of his contests this weekend against the Binghamton Mets to improve his Double-A batting average to .317 in 21 games. In his 26 games played with Columbus earlier this season between May 18th and Saturday, he batted .341 with six home runs and 20 RBI. The 25-year-old was on the Akron roster all of last season but was injured for over 100 games with a right hamstring strain. He was an Eastern League regular season All-Star in 2008 and was Cleveland's second round draft pick in June 2006 out of Rice University.

In an unrelated note, LHP Kelvin De La Cruz will now be wearing #52.
